The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal members have continued their protest against the Government decision to end the mandatory requirement of domicile certificates for Government job seekers. The UKD members are warning that considering the protracted Government apathy towards this issue, the party has now decided to protest unrelentingly until the Government responds proactively.
Speaking at the protest site, party activists said that the fact that the Government is ignoring their protest and demand is a cause for concern. The public have continued to face problems in procuring domicile certificates due to frequent Government orders on the issue. The decision to remove the mandatory condition for domicile certificate for those applying for Government jobs is against the interests of the people of Uttarakhand is against the interests of the Uttarakhandis and goes against the spirit which guided the Statehood agitation. They alleged that the State Government is misinforming the people of Uttarakhand on this issue. In addition to this the Government has so far failed to take any action aimed at redressing the problems and confusion caused to the public. The UKD workers further stressed that they will continue their protest against the Government decision and in chalk out a plan of action for intensifying the agitation if the government fails to take a proactive stand on the issue. Latafat Hussain, Gunanand Dhyani and other party activists alleged that both the Congress and BJP governments in Uttarakhand have displayed an attitude detrimental to the people and culture of Uttarakhand.
They said that the party will consolidate the dissatisfaction of the people against the anti-public policies being followed by the State Government. The continued apathy of the Government towards the important issue of domicile certificate is another sign of the negative attitude of the State towards the interests of people of Uttarakhand, added party workers.
