New Delhi: At least 3000 pilgrims remain stranded near Uttarakhand's Badrinath after landslides on Wednesday night.
Landslides were reported from three places in the area.
The Army's Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has been pressed into service and is trying to open up the roads.
The Senior Superintendent of Police Renuka Devi told NDTV that the
authorities were finding it tough to open up the roads due to continuous
landslides. She also said facilities were being provided to the
pilgrims and may were being accommodated in local villages.
Pilgrims
remain stranded in Joshimath and Hemkund and the authorities are now
advising people not to travel till the roads don't clear up.
