Old-age ailments and poor diet are the reasons that led to the
death of this endangered specie, said Manoj Shah, zoo ranger, while
talking to The Pioneer.
The tiger had not been taking normal diet leading to deterioration of its health, Shah added.
The tiger was brought to the Nainital zoo campus on July 25. However,
after examination of its health, it was found that there was no fat in
its body.
This fact suggested that the tiger was not able to eat even in its
natural habitat, he further said. More so, the eyesight of the tiger was
also almost nil due to its old age. It was about 10-year-old sources
said.
