A day after the Kedarnath Temple reopened, the portals of the Himalayan shrine of Badrinath were reopened yesterday for pilgrims after a gap of six months, as per a PTI report. During the opening ceremony of the temple, situated at a height of 3,133 meter in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Khanjan Das, Minister of Disaster Management, Govt of Uttarakhand and Rakesh Sharma, Principal Secretary, Religious Tourism Department, Govt of Uttarakhand were also present along with hundreds of devotees outside the sanctum sanctorum.
Amid the blowing of conches and chanting of vedic hymns and shlokas, Rawal Keshava Namboodiri, Chief Priest of the Badrinath shrine opened the doors of the temple at 05:35 AM as the palanquin carrying the idol of Lord Vishnu was taken inside the sanctum sanctorum, Anusuiya Prasad Bhatt, Chairman, Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee said.
