The Uttarakhand government today rubbished the opposition charge that it was indifferent to farmers' plight and claimed the government was paying the highest price to sugarcane growers in comparison to other states.
"Congress' statement shows that either they have no knowledge about various schemes or they have become frustrated due to rising popularity graph of Nishank government," said Chairman of state level media advisory committee Devendra Bhasin.
"We are paying highest price to the sugarcane growers in comparison to other sates," said Bhasin.
"We have also waived off revenue collection from farmers despite being a small state," Bhasin added.
He said the government has also prepared a plan under chief minister herbs development scheme through which nearly 50,000 farmers will be benefited.
