Leopard beaten to death, another dies in road mishap

A leopard was beaten to death and another was run over by a speeding vehicle in Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, forest officials said on Thursday. A mob armed with sticks and rods attacked a big cat in Pipali Tok area of Almora district on Wednesday and beat it to death. This is the second such incident in the hill state within a fortnight. Meanwhile in another incident, a leopardess was knocked down by a speeding vehicle in Ramnagar area of Nainital district on Thursday.
