RTI activist beaten up by UPCL union leaders

Dehra Dun, Jul 20 (PTI) An RTI activist and local journalist was today allegedly assaulted by some union leaders of the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL), the sole power distribution company in the hill state. The activist, who used to file RTIs in the UPCL for his stories, received blows on his face and was injured badly after a group of union leaders assaulted him, police said. Police have registered a case and investigations are on. However, no arrest has been made so far.
