Snowfall, rain expected in Uttarakhand over next 5 days, IMD issues yellow alert

 The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'yellow alert' for Uttarakhand for the next five days, warning that many districts in the state are likely to receive snowfall and rain.

The IMD has said by December 13, different parts of the state are expected to receive snow, rain and hailstorm.

On December 12 and 13, the Garhwal division is likely to get snowfall.

Plain districts like Haridwar and US Nagar will witness thick fog during this period, while the hills districts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli Garhwal, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh are likely to receive light rain and snowfall.

Besides these, other districts are also likely to receive light rains, the IMD said.
