The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) is in the process of developing five ropeway projects through Public Private Partnership (PPP) model in the state. The construction of the projects will be on Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis. According to a UTDB official, Uttarakhand Infrastructure Projects Company (UIPC) has been appointed as the consultant for developing ropeway projects at Dehradun – Mussoorie; Thuligad-Purnagiri and Janki Chatti – Yamunotri routes. While Uttarakhand Infrastructure Development Company Limited (U-DeC) has been appointed as the technical consultant to build ropeway projects at Ramwada – Kedarnath and Rishikesh – Neelkanth routes. The ropeway projects will range from one kilometre to ten kilometre. UTDB is expecting to complete these projects within two and half years. Currently, initial paper work is being carried out for these projects.
In order to find developers for these projects, UTDB recently announced Request for Qualification (RFQ). As per the RFQ, selected developers will be responsible for design, construction, finance, development, operation
