GPS introduced in Corbett National Park

Nainital, Sep 23(PTI) In a bid to monitor the tours taken by the patrolling party in the dense parts of the sanctuary, the Corbett National Park will be using Global Positioning System.

According to Vinod Singhal, Director of Corbett National Park, it is for the first time in Uttarakhand that this advanced technology is being used to monitor 72 patrol parties.

The patrol parties are equipped with digital cameras for digital data collection of the park area, Singhal said adding that the mapping of the park has been done and that technology is being used for protection of the wildlife in 525 sq kilometre area of the park.
