Uttarakhand to fill Group C posts separately

Dehradun: In a significant move, the Uttarakhand government has brought posts of the Group C (Class III) out of the purview of the Uttarakhand Public Services Commission.

With this, only the youths of the state would get these jobs. Youths from all over India were eligible for applying to these posts till they were within the purview of the State Public Services Commission.

This move has been initiated in view of the demand for reserving the group C posts for the local youths by holding the exams through the State Subordinate Services Selection Commission.

The government has also announced proceedings for setting up of the Subordinate Services Selection Commission, so that it can carry out the examinations.

The government also announced holding recruitment for 12,000 Group C posts lying vacant in the state.

Briefing the mediapersons, Chief Secretary NS Napalchyal said that this move would ensure that only the youths of the state would get these jobs. The various departments with the vacant posts would have to notify about the posts within three months.

The age limit for these posts has also been raised to 40 years.
