NEW DELHI: The East district police have seized 150 bottles of liquor from a Haryana Roadways bus during a surprise check on NH-24 on Sunday. No one has been arrested as police could not identify the passenger who was carrying the liquor bottles. Police officers said the branded liquor bottles were kept in canvas bags inside the bus.
The bus was on its way to Nainital from Gurgaon. "Since it has become difficult to take alcohol in private vehicles under the new Excise Act, bootleggers have started carrying alcohol in public transport," said a police officer.
