Srinagar
30 kms. from Pauri situated on the bank of Alaknanda river Srinagar was once the capital of the Garhwal Kings before the arrival of British. Even today it is the biggest township of the district and is the seat of the Garhwal University. It is located of the junction of roads from Kotdwar, Rishikesh, Tehri Garhwal and Badrinath.
Rishikesh
Rishikesh also known as the 'Place of Sages' is a spiritual town situated 24 kms. upstream from Haridwar, at the confluence of the Chandrabhaga and Ganga, It is believed that God by the name of 'Hrishikesh' had apeared as an answer to the hard penances by Rabhiya Rishi and henceforth the place derived its name.
Nainital
The Nainital tourist district is the pride of the Kumaon region in himalayas Uttarakhand. Almora
The ancient town of Almora, before it's establishment was under the possession of Katyuri king Baichaldeo. He donated major part of this land to a Gujrati Brahmin Sri Chand Tiwari. Later on when Chand kingdom was founded in Baramandal, the town of Almora was founded at this centrally located place in 1560 by Kalyan Chand.
Kausani
Kausani is ideal for those who seek to escape from the din and dust, hustle and bustle of big cities and wish to spend a quiet holiday in the lap of nature. Indeed, Kausani is a veritable heaven of beauty to which an excursion must be made on visiting Kumaon. Pinnath (5 km), Bur Pinnath (5.5 km) and Bhatkot (12 km) are the highest points near Kausani.
