UBI donates Rs 2.21 lakh to CM relief fund

Dehra Dun, Mar 31 (PTI) Public Sector lender Union Bank of India (UBI) has given Rs 2.21 lakh to the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Relief Fund for carrying out relief works for victims of natural disasters that hit the hill state in September last year. The employees of UBI working in Uttarakhand collected Rs 2.21 lakh by contributing their one-day salary for the cause, a press release from the bank said here. The check of the amount was handed over to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank by Bank's Deputy General Manager J P Bahuguna yesterday, it said. The bank had also given Rs 51 lakh to Chief Minister Relief fund in November last year, it added.
