SJVNL to construct three hydel power plants

DEHRADUN, May 24 -- SJVNL general manager SC Agarwal informed that the limited has been assigned to construct three hydro-power plants in the State. He informed that Devsari, Chamoli based 252 MW, 60 MW Natwad Moori and 51 MW Jakhol Sankari hydro-power projects have been undertaking by the limited.

Agarwal claimed that power projects will also generate ample of employment opportunities for the locals. SJVNL is committed for the overall development of the State and around '50 lakh were spent by the limited for disaster-hit victims, said Agarwal. He also said that tents, blankets, eatable stuffs and other items have been provided on regular basis to victims.

Agarwal said SJVNL is committed for rehabilitation for victims. According to him, limited has been undertaking several projects in Nepal also. He claimed that Uttarakhand will have around 1,700 lakh free units once the projects complete in the coming days.
