Uttarakhand chief minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has launched several development programmes including ‘Asirvad’, which aims to develop knowledge and skill sets to promote youngsters and industry in the hill state. The CM’s advisor, Rajesh Naithani, said ‘Asirvad’ was a collaborative initiative between the state government, industry and the technical institutes. Under the project, an institution would develop a programme keeping in view the skill matrix required for developing fresh Class 12 passouts into engineers with a potential to climb the corporate ladder.
The scheme aims to train and provide jobs to 21,000 youngsters of the state. The companies that are part of the initiative include Gaursons, IL and FS, Bansal Group, Ashok Leyland, Graphic Era University, Godwin group, Trident Realities, Industry association of Uttarakhand. So far, 3,100 people have been enrolled.
Naithani said, “For the first time industry is making an investment not for hiring but for developing future managers and responsible corporate citizens. The industry and state government have come to an understanding and raised the bar of a guideline that proposes 70% of the engagement opportunities to young talent who are domiciles of Uttarakhand to the level of 100%.”
He said one hundred fresh students had joined the programme, at the campus of Ashok Leyland and NTTF. Certificate programme leading to a diploma in manufacturing spanning four years is offered.
Naithani said the CM had also initiated ‘Samvedna’ programme, a voluntary blood donation drive.
Shedding light on another scheme, the Antodaya Vikas Yatra, he said it was aimed at reaching citizens in remote areas and involving them in the state’s development.
