Dehra Dun, May 25 (PTI) Uttarakhand government would submit proposals of projects worth Rs 750 cr to the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) this year.
A decision to this effect was taken during a meeting of Nabard chaired by Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar, an official release here said.
He directed the government officials to accelerate the pace of work being carried out in the state under projects worth Rs 400 crore sanctioned last year.
He asked the Public Works Department to chalk out an action plan for construction of suspension bridges and ropeways and submit proposals worth Rs 550 crore to Nabard.
The meeting was informed that Irrigation Department would submit projects worth Rs 200 crore to the bank. Kumar also reviewed the progress of Asi Ganga hydropower project phase-1 and phase-2, Suringad phase-2 and Munsyari projects being developed by the department.
It was also decided that Hydro Power Corporation would submit projects worth Rs.127 crore to Nabard.
The Chief Secretary directed all departments to ensure submission of proposals within a month so that timely sanction of funds could be availed.
Uttarakhand Principal Secretary Finance Alok Jain said Nabard provides financial assistance on a rate of interest of 6 per cent.
