Eight trekkers from Bengal cremated

Dehradun, Jul 22 (PTI) Eight trekkers from Bengal who had gone missing last year while on an expedition in Gangotri Kalindi Khal area have been cremated on the banks of Bhagirathi river. Their bodies were found by another group of trekkers near Sundar Nala, 15 kms from Vasuki Tal, in two tents and as many as thirty porters had been sent to recover them. Three trekkers M P Rao, Anol Das and Arun Aadak were cremated last night while last rites of guide Jayveer Singh Rana and porters Udayveer, Sonu, Vishal and Rajesh were performed today. The victims had gone missing in September last year because of bad weather conditions.
