A day after Headlines Today exposed the illegal mining mafia plundering the Ganga in connivance with a minister of the BJP government in Uttarakhand , party leader Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said action would be taken against the culprits.
The former national president of the BJP said that the party has taken note of the Headlines Today report and the matter would be investigated. The TV channel had exposed how rampant illegal mining in and around Haridwar has been destroying the riverbed and eroding the Ganga's banks.
"The minister has already issued a denial. I think the state government will never allow this. It must be happening on the sly. The state government has already specified the necessary conditions for mining. Still, now that you have brought it to my notice, I will inquire," Singh said.
