Dehra Dun, Jul 12 (PTI) Three persons were killed and as many injured in separate road accidents in Uttarakhand, police said here today.
Two persons died and another was injured yesterday when a construction machine which they were operating fell into a 300-metre-deep gorge near Saindhar village in Pauri Garhwal district, they said.
While the machine operator and his helper died on the spot, the injured was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The construction was being done for Saindhar-Kanakhet motor road.
In another incident, one person was killed and two others were injured when a truck in which they were travelling fell into a gorge at Lalgondi in Rudraprayag district yesterday.
The truck was en route to Guptkashi from Ukhimath when its driver lost control over the vehicle while taking a sharp turn.
While one of its passengers died on the spot, the injured was admitted to a nearby hospital where their condition is stated to be serious.
