Dehradun, Jul 14 (PTI) The collectorate employees have called off their nearly 45 days long strike after Uttarakhand government conceded to most of their demands. An agreement to this effect was reached after a delegation of the striking employees met Chief Secretary Subash Kumar here last evening, official sources said. "The government has agreed to create avenues of new promotions for the employees," a spokesman of the employees said. Demanding restructuring of the collectorate, employees of the tehsil and SDM/DM offices all over the state have been on strike since June 1. Kumar said a notification to this effect would shortly be issued. PTI
