Dehradun, Jul 13 (PTI) Uttarakhand government has decided to observe July 26, the Kargil victory day, as 'Shaurya Diwas' and has announced a tax holiday for ex-servicemen on vehicle purchased on this day. The decisions to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar here today, said an official release here. Directing the officials to prepare a detailed programme of the two-day celebrations, Kumar said a state war memorial would also be set up to remember soldiers who laid down their lives for the country. In this regard, he also asked Dehradun District Magistrate to identify the land for the purpose. Kumar said the government would also provide exemption in tax to ex-servicemen on purchase of scooters and cars on Kargil day.
