ehradun, Aug 19 (PTI) The recent announcement of creation of four new districts in Uttarakhand has intensified demand of formation of a separate district of Kashipur. People of Kashipur area of Udhamsingh Nagar district, under the banner of 'Sarvdaliya Sangharsh Samiti', today demonstrated at various places including the office of SDM against the state government to press for their demand of declaring it as a separate district. "State government did not do justice with the people of Kashipur who were demanding a separate district for the past 50 years," a sangharsha samiti leader alleged. The official sources said elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of the protest demonstrations by the people. Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had on the occassion of Independence Day announced to create four new districts of Kotdwar, Didihaat, Ranikhet and Yamunotri. Meanwhile, the people of Purola yesterday demonstrated at the tehsil office demanding to make it the district headquarters of the proposed district of Yamunotri. They also demanded to rename the district as Purola in place of Yamunotri stating that the agitation for a separate district was launched by the people of Purola only.
