Rain, flood situation remain grim in Uttarakhand

The National highways between Delhi- Lucknow is still closed for traffic. The traffic on Bareilly-Haridwar and Kashipur -Murdabad -Delhi highway is also disrupted. However Delhi-Pauri highways has been opened from Bijnore after water level of Ganga receeded from the roads.

In Uttarakhand, the Yamunotri and Kedarnath route have been re-opened but many other national highways are still closed due to landslides following intermittent rain in different parts of the state.

Three more persons were reported killed in rain related incidents. Met Department Director Anand Sharma told AIR Dehradun correspondent that the forecast is that light to moderate rain may occur at various places whereas heavy rain is likely in the foot hills of Dehradun, Champavat and Nainital in the next 24 hours.
