BJP govt's anti-corruption drive too late: Cong

Dehra Dun: Congress on Thursday took a dig at BJPstating that the anti-corruption drive launched by Uttarakhandgovernment has come too late.

"The BJP government is now enacting laws like right topublic service and confiscation of benami property toeliminate corruption after its chief minister and ministershave already swindled off funds to the tune of crores ofrupees through various scandals.


BJP govt`s anti-corruption drive too late: Cong "They should have taken such steps four years back when ithad come to power," Leader of the Opposition Harak Singh Rawattold reporters here.

He said if the Congress is voted to power in the nextassembly elections, it would make mandatory for all MLAs todeclare their property every year as well as bring the post ofChief Minister under the ambit of Lokayukta.
