The construction of the Lab would mark extension of modern medical facilities in the State." said Vijay Bahuguna, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, while addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Blood Bank Component and Cath Lab in Jeevan Rekha hospital at Kashipur on Saturday. He also announced Rs 10 crore for repair of roads and bridges in Kashipur areas. He said that the hospital was known by its doctors not the building.
It is matter of great satisfaction that the first private blood bank lab had come into existence which would provide facilities of angiography, angioplasty, heart ballooning and blood bank to the people. After formation of the State through there had been improvement in heath services and several medical colleges opened, yet there was lot to be done in this sector. Underlining that there was lack of medical facilities in remote hill areas, he said that several big hospitals had been urged to extend their services in those areas. State government had decided to increase salary of doctors serving in remote areas and agreement was being signed with MBBS doctors.
Pointing out that State had lots of tourism potential CM asserted that it was necessary to have high standard medical facilities as tourism and health were complimentary to each other. He maintained that better health services would boost tourism in the State and this would generate more employment opportunities for local people.
"With plan outlay of Rs. 8,200 crore we are definitely heading towards prosperity, provided the officers visit remote areas to ensure better execution of development projects," he exhorted and added that any officer found deficient in utilising the allocated fund for the development works will to face the sequences. Main emphasis is being laid on drinking water and roads.
Dr. Naresh Trehan, CMD Medanta- The Medicity, said that the Cath Lab would facilitate easier treatment of heart patients. He said that it was the first private lab of its kind in Uttarakhand with all modern medical facilities. Hospital MD Ashvini Chabra said that the hospital would be empanelled for ESI and would benefit workers of various industries.
