Dehradun, August 18
Nainital clinched the trophy in the state-level Under-19 Boys' Football Tournament defeating Maharana Pratap Sports (MPS) College 2-0 in the final match played at Pavilion Ground in Dehradun on Tuesday.
The players of Maharana Pratap Sports College were unable to match the skills of Nainital players and despite some aimless shots at the goal post, they were outplayed in both halves. In the 14th minute of the first half, Pramod scored the opening goal of the match and gave Nainital a promising lead. Another goal by Jeeshan Ansari in the 56th minute sealed victory for Nainital.
Chief guest RK Kunwar, Director, Education Department; SK Sarki, District Sports Director, and SP Khali, Chief Education Officer, gave away prizes to the winners.
SDS Rawat, Shailendra Singh and Gopal Chauhan were the referees of the match.
