DEHRADUN:In a good news for adventure lovers, Uttarakhand tourism minister, Dinesh Dhanai on Friday announced at Uttarakhand Sadan in New Delhi that to promote adventure tourism, the 'Tehri adventure tourism festival' will be organised at Tehri lake on October 15 and October 16 this year.
Speaking about the fest, Dhanai said, "All people with faith, at least once in their lifetime wish to come to Devbhumi Uttarakhand which besides being a land of faith gives a big terrain of the nation-water and other important things. Nature indeed has bestowed the hill state with much beauty!"
Tourism minister, Dhanai also stated that in a bid to promote private investment in the field of tourism in Uttarakhand, the state government is developing infrastructure in tourist places in the state and Tehri lake figures prominently under this initiative.
"As per a master plan, Tehri Lake is being developed on the lines of international tourist destinations" added Dhanai. It is also learnt that facilities like Rajiv Gandhi National Adventure Academy, Floating marina, Floating huts, Ayush Institute, spa resort might be available here in the future as per proposal under the public-private partnership model.
"Tehri adventure tourism festival' will have adventure activities like kayaking, Canoeing, jet ski, rafting, rowing, air show, paragliding besides cultural programs."added Dhanai.
It probably is time for all the adventure lovers to sing, "Wake me up when September ends",as the adventure begins this October in the himalayan hill state!
