Dehra Dun, Mar 23 (PTI) Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha has constituted a House committee for selecting a place for its new building. The House committee would have five members and would submit its report to the Speaker within two months, state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prakash Pant today said. The names of members would be decided by the Speaker later, he added. He said that the Dixit Commission set up to select a place for a permanent capital of Uttarakhand had already given its report a year ago which has been tabled in the House but a final decision is yet to be taken by the Assembly. An amount of Rs 88 crore sanctioned by the 13th finance commission is lying unused as the decision is still pending, Pant said, adding, the committee would recommend the place where a new building for Vidhan Sabha can be constructed as the present Vidhan Sabha is quite small. Dehra Dun is an interim capital of Uttarakhand since the new hill state came into being on Nov 1, 2000.
