Dehradun, Mar 28 (PTI) Uttarakhand Governor Margaret Alva today said though the Annual Status of Education report-2010 paints a satisfactory picture of the education scenario in the state, there is a scope for qualitative improvement in it. "The key findings presented in the report prepared by Delhi-based pratham education foundation are encouraging, there is a scope for qualitative improvement in it," she said after releasing the report at Raj Bhawan here. "Huge gaps remain between rural and urban areas and the probability of getting any education at all depends on gender, caste and income. Women, SC, ST and poor people are faced with formidable barriers when it comes to basic education," the governor said.
