An earthqake of moderate intensity, measuring 5 on the Richter scale, was recorded in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand late last night, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said here today.
According to the IMD, the quake, which had its epicentre at latitude 30.9 degrees North and longitude 78.2 degrees East, occurred at 0047 hours today at a depth of 10 km.
