Additionally, Pauri-based Ram Ganga Hydropower Project also achieved the target by generating 265.536 MU of electricity for the current financial year.

Well-established sources revealed that instead of lending surplus electricity to neighbouring States, the department will use the electricity to meet the daily power requirements. He lamented that the demand for electricity had been increasing year after year and thus, the department was forced to look for other avenues to meet it.

UJVNL managing director GP Patel told The Pioneer that the credit for this record generation went to the farsighted vision and appropriate planning of the management as well as proficient working and efficiency of officers and employees of the nigam.

He claimed that timely repair and maintenance reduced the downtime of machines and flushing of barrages in a scheduled and planned manner helped proper generation during the month. He hoped that UJVNL would be able to meet with the set targets in the given timeframe.
