Dehra Dun, May 23 (PTI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay
Bahuguna today urged Foreign Minister S M Krishna and Shipping
Minister G K Wasan to expedite the efforts for safe release of
Mukesh Arya, who is among 11 Indians held captive by Somalian
pirates off the Oman coast.
In separate letters to the union ministers, Bahuguna
urged them to take concrete measures for securing the youth's
safe release.
Arya, a resident of Kotdwar in Uttarakhand, was working
in a shipping company and was abducted by pirates on his way
from Oman to Indonesia few days back.
His family members had approached Bahuguna and urged him
to take up the matter with the Centre, an official release
said.
