Businesses and organisations involved in travel and tourism from 15 nations and most of the Indian States have set up nearly 4,000 stalls in the TTF 2012 organised at Gujarat University in Ahmedabad. The Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra to be held in Uttarakhand next year is the main attraction of the Uttarakhand stall which has been decked in posters related to this historical event.
Addressing mediapersons, the KMVN manager Prakash Chandra spoke of the various programmes being undertaken by the corporation to encourage tourism. The State Government is making special efforts to encourage ecotourism and adventure tourism in Uttarakhand, he said.
Regional tourist officer Poonam Chand said that most of the visiting tourists inquired about mountain biking, bird watching, complete tour package, trekking, off-beat tourism, home stay and special circuits. The UTDB is trying to boost tourism in Uttarakhand and maximise the number of tourists visiting this mountain State.
