U''khand to set up 4 more rehab centres for wild animals

Dehra Dun, Mar 28 (PTI) The Uttarakhand government today said four more rehabilitation and rescue centres for wild animals will be set up in the state. In reply to a query in the state Assembly, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prakash Pant said the government is planning to open four more rescue and rehabilitation centres for wild animals in Uttarakhand. The state currently has two such centres. He said wild animals are damaging crops in some areas of the hill state and the government is taking measures like improving fodder in the jungles, putting up solar fencing on borders and authorising DFOs to take decisions regarding killing monkeys and neelgais to combat the menace.
