Tehri CDO removed, two others suspended

Dehra Dun, Apr 26 (PTI) The Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Tehri was removed from his post and two others were today suspended for dereliction of duty, officials said here. During a multi-purpose camp at Pratapnagar area of Tehri district, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank ordered the removal of CDO Ashish Joshi from the post after he failed to attend the camp, they said. Nishank was also apprised by the residents of Shukri village that they have only one teacher in their primary school and he too is not coming to the school for the past two months. The residents told Nishank that the block education officer of Pratapnagar was not functioning in an independent way and was favouring his own people. Taking cognisance of the complaints, Nishank suspended the two with immediate effect. During the camp, Nishank directed the officials to ensure their presence in the meetings and asked them to regularly meet people of the area to redress their grievances.
