Nainital, Jun 23 (PTI) Uttarakhand High Court today upheld the decision of its single judge bench quashing the state government's notification on dissolution of Haridwar and Haldwani municipal boards and appointment of administrators to manage the two urban local bodies. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Barin Ghosh and Justice S K Gupta upheld the decision given by Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia while hearing the petition filed by Uttarakhand government challenging the quashing of its order, said L P Naithani, the counsel of Dinesh Randhawa, a member of Haldwani municipal board.Justice Dhulia in his order on June 9 had the quashed government notification regarding dissolution of Haldwani and Haridwar municipal boards upgrading them to municipal corporations and appointment of administrators to manage the work of dissolved local bodies. Uttarakhand government had issued the notification on May 20 this year. However, Randhawa moved the High Court challenging the decision of the state government on the ground that he is an elected member of Haldwani municipal board and the government took the decision without taking the elected body into confidence.
