IAF station commanders meet begins

ALLAHABAD: A three-day station commanders' conference began at the Central Air Command (CAC) headquarters here on Tuesday. The conference was inaugurated by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal PV Naik (PVSM VSM ADC).

Commanders from units located in UP, MP, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Bihar are participating in the conference which is being hosted by Air Officer Commanding in Chief of CAC, Air Marshal GS Kochar (PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC). Speaking on the occasion, the Air Chief apprised the commanders of the geo-political situation both inside and outside the country and asked them to remain vigilant.

The Air Chief awarded trophies to the commanders for achieving excellence in operations, maintenance and administration. Air force station Agra was awarded the `Pride of CAC' for best overall performance. Madhubaala Naik, president, Air Force Wives' Welfare Association (AFWWA) presided over the board of management meeting of presidents of AFWWA (local) of Air force stations under CAC and executive members of AFWWA (regional).

A colourful cultural programme was organised by the Sanginis in honour of the visiting dignitary. She also inaugurated `Sangam Haat ' organised by AFWWA (regional). Madhubaala Naik also presented the Best School and the Best Station Medicare Centre awards. Air Force School Gwalior and Air Force School Bakshi Ka Talab (Lucknow) were adjudged the best schools in categories of senior secondary and primary schools respectively. Air Force Station Agra was adjudged the best station medicare centre and award of the best medical inspection room was given to Air Force Station Bhowali (Nainital).

The Chief of Air Staff along with his wife left Allahabad on Tuesday itself.
