Dehradun, Aug 17 (IBNS) At least nine people died of heavy rains and floods in Uttarakhand, reports said on Wednesday.
A men of Tunakot Shera is died in flood of KUJGAD Nadi in near Bhujan Ranikhet, source said in Wednesday day night.
Already the state recorded 850 mm of rainfall in the last 72 hours with all rivers flowing above the danger mark in Rishikesh and Haridwar.
The Indian Meteorological Department in a statement on Wednesday said: “Isolated heavy rainfall would occur over Uttarakhand during next24 hours.”
Landslides were reported at Kumaon and Garhwal areas, thereby blocking the National Highway connecting Chardham.
Train services from Kathgodam have been suspended due to submerged tracks.
All schools will remain closed on Thursday, as per state government notification.
