Police stations in Uttarakhand to be linked through internet

DEHRA DUN: The Uttarakhand government on Tuesday decided to link all police stations and pickets in the state with the police headquarters by December this year.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting here, presided over by chief secretary Subhash Kumar and attended among others by state DGP JS Pande, an official release said.

An integrated system would be installed for linking all police stations and pickets with the police headquarters, it said.

The other police stations in the country would also be linked with the state police headquarters through this system, the release said.

The Centre had sanctioned Rs 16 crore for the project.
