World class ice-skating training centre to come up in Dehradun

Dehradun, Aug 30 (PTI) Uttarakhand government is keen to develop Dehradun as a world-class training centre for ice-skating, Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said here. "A team of 30 boys and girls would start training in the field with a focus on SAF and winter games from next month," Nishank said while addressing the ongoing ice-skating carnival at a sports college here last evening. Apart from ice-skating, the Chief Minister said his government is committed to encourage other adventure sports in the state, an official release said. Sports Minister Khajan Das said during the carnival, which began on Aug 11, nearly 500 students as well as IMA cadets have already received training in ice-skating.
