The Uttarakhand Governor Aziz Qureshi sought detailed
information from the vice-chancellor of Uttarakhand University of
Horticulture and Forestry (UUHF) Bharsar, Pauri, Mathew Prasad about the
appointment of teaching, non-teaching staff and student admissions in
the newly established university. Prasad informed him that the academic
session in UUHF had been started from August 9 this year.
The UUHF vice-chancellor informed the Governor that as per the
directions of the State administration, all the teaching and
non-teaching staff of GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology
had been given the option of merging with GBPUAT and working in UUHF on
deputation.
Prasad informed the Governor about the problems faced due to lack of
medical facilities either in the UUHF campus of neighbouring area.
The university campus is located in mountainous area about 60 km away
from the District Hospital which causes great inconvenience to students
and employees in need of medical attention. Stressing on the need for
establishing a mobile treatment vehicle station in the area, the vice
chancellor said that this will also benefit the locals. He also informed
the Governor about the various proposals for infrastructure development
in the UUHF campus, which the university administration expects to be
approved by the Government.
