In order to improve administration in the state capital, Dehradun SSP Kewal Khurana has either transferred or reverted to the police line, around nine police station in-charges, sub-inspectors and police personnel since assuming charge in Dehradun.
In the last 15 days, the SSP has reverted to police line to seven police personnel and two police station in-charges. Khurana had directed stringent measures to control crimes like chain snatching, loot and burglary and resolve traffic jams in the state capital. While talking to The Pioneer, Khurana said that all the possible steps have been taken to resolve traffic jams on different city roads.
Constables and head constables have been assigned 100 metres and 200 metres of area to ease traffic congestion on different roads in the state capital.
Apart from this, Police station personnel have been assigned to ease traffic congestion at intersections nearer to their police station. He has directed officers to be vigilant in their assigned areas warning that negligence will not be tolerated. Police patrolling has also been increased in the State capital. “Action will be taken against the officers who fail to execute their duties effectively,” he added.
