Hopes of three women activists that Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat will meet their demands following a meeting with him came crashing down on Friday.
The trio had climbed a tree in Dehradun two days back and descended on Thursday night only after chief minister's media advisor Surinder Kumar reached the agitation site at the district magistrate's office campus on Thursday night and assured them that Rawat will meet them.
Kumar said: "The activists met Chief Minister Harish Rawat on friday but a consensus on their demands failed to materialise."
Demanding a provision for 10 per cent reservation for state activists in government jobs and pension for those over 60 years of age, the three - Bhuma Rawat, Savitri Negi and Bhuwneshari Negi - had climbed the tree on February 11.
But, remaining there for 33 hours affected their health with Bhuma being admitted to the government-run Doon Hospital.
