Dehradun, Sep 27 (PTI) Uttarakhand Governor Margaret Alva said there is no dearth of funds for welfare of deprived children. "Adequate funds will be provided for implementation of schemes meant for the welfare of deprived children," Alva told an anual general meeting of the state children welfare council yesterday. Alva said she has always been keen to help implement viable proposals for the child welfare, according to an official release. Expressing concern for children, detected with serious illnesses during health camps, she said members of the council should come forward to help them. Alva stressed on the need for proper and timely utilisation of available funds rather than "making efforts for acquiring more funds." She also expressed concern at the growing trend of female foeticide in the state and called for running a widespread awareness campaign against it, the release added.
